Previous experience as a Chief Engineer, in management, or within higher education environments is highly valued.
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to play a critical role in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex facility systems. This position requires strong technical expertise in at least one core tradeâsuch as Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing/Piping, or Central Utility Plant Operationsâalong with the versatility to support multiple systems across the facility.

Operate, maintain, monitor, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, fire/life safety, furniture, and control systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing components to optimize HVAC and related system performance.
Record system readings, evaluate performance, and make necessary adjustments to ensure reliable operation.
Oversee facility services, including preventive maintenance programs, inventory control, purchasing, and coordination of contracted maintenance.
Monitor quality, scope, and pricing of work performed by external contractors.
Maintain compliance with safety policies, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment; identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct periodic audits of tools and instrumentation to ensure readiness and accuracy.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
Strong ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, identify malfunctions, and implement effective corrective actions.
EPA 608 Type II Certification.
Working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is not required for this role.
