These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the U.S. Forest Service through the Agriculture Conversation Experienced Service (ACES) Program.Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. Expert knowledge of USDA and Forest Service environmental planning and NEPA procedures. ?Expert ability to articulate environmental planning and NEPA procedures policy to others. ? Expertknowledge of recent research associated with USDA and Forest Service environmental analysis and NEPA processes.Must be familiar and capable of using PALS and pinyon.Duties:The individual is considered an expert at a national level in the field of environmental planning and NEPA. The assignment requires extraordinary use of independent professional judgment, and extensive knowledge of national policy and USDA and Forest Service environmental planning and NEPA procedures.Provides national level expertise and project evaluation regarding emergency authorities to expedite environmental compliance. Support development of resources, tools, and processes related to emergency authorities.45%Provides guidance and advice to various National Forest System programs and regions related to environmental analysis and decision making such as program-specific NEPA guidance or regional inquiries on project-specific NEPA compliance.25%Provide expertise and advice on the development of scopes of work for contracting for NEPA services.15%Draws from a breadth of expertise in NEPA-adjacent program areas, including forest planning, adaptive management, monitoring, and policy analysis, to address novel, exigent assignments in those areas.15%Other:Training on new environmental planning tools and systems.Travel Requirements: Infrequent and to be determined.Overnight travel: Infrequent and to be determined.Air travel anticipated: Infrequent and to be determined.Physical requirements: Position largely works in an office environment.
