Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively with the team of Article 16 Clinic nurses to provide the following services to OPWDDindividuals under our care: • Provide/prepare for routine and emergent individuals care including assessing/triaging individuals andobtaining vital signs, EKGs, performing finger-sticks, catheterizations, IM and subcutaneous injections(immunizations, Prolia, B-12, Haldol, etc), assisting with minor procedures and annual physicals,helping with Eye Clinic, etc.• Process orders, consultation forms, prescriptions, etc. generated from above visits correctly and in atimely manner. This also includes creating/processing referrals to outside specialty providers.•Create/process electronic prescriptions, durable medical equipment justifications and prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic procedures.•Triage incoming phone calls, labs, mail, email and consults ensuring timely follow up by practitioner and compliance with Article 16 rules.•Organize practitioner workload in an equitable manner throughout the day.•Be liaison between Residential RNs/staff and Clinic practitioners (and other Article 16 practitioners as necessary) to ensure individuals needs are met in a timely manner.•Create laboratory requisitions/prescriptions for routine and PRN lab work using correct ICD codes.•Draw/process labs including blood, urine, stool, cytology and pathology specimens.•Sterilize reusable equipment as appropriate and perform monthly testing and routine maintenance of sterilizer.•Maintain up-to-date supplies for minor procedures, lab draws, immunizations, sterilizer/EKG/Glucometer, etc.•Maintain Immunization and Lab fridge/freezer including monitoring temperature, cleaning and defrosting as needed.•Empty biohazard containers and sharps containers as needed and prepare them for pickup by biohazard waste disposal vendor•Maintain OSHA standards and supplies, including laundering gowns and towels as needed and packaging biohazardous waste and arranging for pick-up as needed.•Conduct quarterly OSHA inspections and document per policy•Assist clinic clerical staff as needed including answering phones, scheduling appts, copying, faxing, accepting deliveries, requesting medical records, etc.•Room patients for providers including but not limited to medical and psychiatric providers. Setup telehealth appointments as necessary.•Conduct and document assessments as instructed for providers during telehealth appointments.•Cover in person for nurses at the Adirondack Clinic 200 Smith Drive, Corinth, NY 12822 as assigned.•Train nurses assigned to OD Heck office as assigned.•Be trained to cover dental sedation nurse duties•Telecommuting may not be available for this nurse as their job duties require that the nurse be on site-discuss at interview.•Incident Investigation and other duties as assigned.The Candidate must be able to perform CPR compressions on a supine individual on the floor.
