An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.This opportunity applies to applicants legally eligible to work in the United States.Qualifications:MA/MS Degree in plant ecology, forest ecology, wetland ecology, or ecological restoration with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in ecological restoration and vegetation managementRequired: valid driver?s license; willingness to work/hike in uneven terrain and carry day pack up to 10 lb; and capacity to follow field/office protocols; demonstrated experience with wetland and or forest restoration ideally in the Sierra Nevada; willingness to drive personal vehicle to work areas.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe AcrobatDuties:Provide ecological restoration expertise to park staff as needed. Responsibilities may include compiling reports to post in IRMA on past restoration projects such as the Giant Forest Restoration and Halstead Meadow Restoration, planning future restoration projects, or implementing ecological restoration or vegetation management projects in the field. May involve assistance with agreements and contracting actions.Ecological Knowledge: apply knowledge of Sierra Nevada vegetation and ecosystems toward ecological restoration of degraded plant communities. Apply knowledge and experience with ecological restoration techniques. Assess a site?s ecological integrity and departure from desired or reference conditions.25%Writing and Communication: Write and compile documentation and reports. Write and review restoration and conservation plans and strategies.25%Project Management, Agreements and Contracting: Assist the parks in writing and compiling cooperative agreements and contracting packages to accomplish ecological restoration and vegetation management projects. Manage and implement projects (set goals/objectives, describe and evaluate alternatives, design projects, estimate costs, track budgets, solve problems, evaluate outcomes).25%Collaboration: Collaborate with park staff, non-profits, and other partners to accomplish ecological restoration and vegetation management design, strategic planning, and implementation.25%Other:Travel Requirements: Infrequent, 1-2 multi-day trips to SEKI for field work. Overnight travel: Infrequent, 1-2 multi-day trips to SEKI for field work. Health and Safety Considerations: Site visits will require walking over uneven terrain and enrollee should observe safe walking procedures.Physical requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
